I'll be spending the next day or two in meetings and have been in them the last couple days. The biggest thing any meeting reminds me is to make sure you use your time wisely.
October 24, 2008 When it doesn't turn out
Every one of us have times when things do not turn out as we had thought they would or hoped they would. This is something that will happen to us all. What makes these experiences different is how we choose to act after it happens.
October 22, 2008 It's up to you
No matter what your circumstances are it is up to you to make the most out of your life.

October 21, 2008 Letters, words, paragraphs and on and on.
Letters by themselves do not mean much it's simply 26 symbols that we recognize (english language.) When you arrange them into words they start to take on more meaning. When you arrange the words into sentences you are on your way to communicating. These sentences turn into articles and even books. Words can describe anything from world changing events to personal histories.
We could look at every day being just like the rest and not meaning much. However, when you arrange your days into meaningful tasks they take on more meaning. When your days become more meaningful you are on your way to a purposeful life.
October 20, 2008 Zits, Weeds, and ...
It seems that many bad things are easy to get and hard to get rid of and that many good things are hard to get but easy to lose once you've had them. In the case of weeds, zits, and bad habits it seems much easier to get them than to get rid of them. In the case of jobs, friends, and habits it seems that good ones are hard to find and easy to lose.
So if you find good things that come to you hold on to them and if you find bad things clinging to you for dear life try your best to rid yourself of them and know you are not alone.

October 17, 2008 Winners and Losers
We just got back from a homecoming game and our team won. It was the first game they have won all season and boy were they happy. It seems the less you have of something the more you enjoy it when you are blessed to have it. It is also a great reminder that nobody always wins forever.
Celebrate victories and remember how it feels when you win and when you lose. There are lessons to be learned on both sides of the fence.

October 16, 2008 Where are you headed?
The question where are you headed can be asked for a number of different areas in our lives. If you do not have an answer to this question there is a good chance at times you may feel frustrated, lost, or confused. If you do not have an answer for this question neither will anyone else. Take some time to see where you feel a void in your life. Search for something to feel that void and then work towards doing so. If you've filled a void with something, move on to the next area or advance the current area you are working on to the next level. A short rest brings relief and a calmness. Long-term idleness brings depression, wasted talents, and pointless lives. So where are you headed?

October 15, 2008 You shouldn't live off of them but...
You shouldn't live off of cookies but every once in awhile you should have a few. Life needs balance - this includes your diet, your exercise, your job, your family, your spending and your income. Focus on balancing things and then every once in awhile reward yourself for sticking with it.
October 14, 2008 Under Pressure
It's always good to be around somebody who stays composed while under pressure. It's always good because they can see what they can change and what they can't. So next time things get tough don't stress over what you don't have control over.
October 10, 2008 The World Needs
Now, more than ever, the world needs people who are focusing their efforts on building good. The world needs people who use their time and talents to lift one another, to strengthen character, and to promote values. Rise up to this challenge and make a difference.

October 9, 2008 Success!
Success only comes to those who try. Success only come to those who do not quit. It might take awhile but never trying ensures that success will never come.
October 8, 2008 Sometimes the 3rd time isn't the charm
We had a conference table ordered and half of it arrived the correct color and half of it was not. Besides being the wrong color it was also damaged. So we signed the shipping list damaged and sent it back. The replacement table piece was also damaged so we signed the shipping list damaged and sent it back. The third time the shipment arrived it was also damaged and so we signed the shipping list damaged and sent it back. Now waiting for the fourth arrival of the complete table, I have no idea if it will arrive damaged. If you go on past experience you might say that it will arrive damaged. However going on past experience doesn't always work and the third time isn't always the charm.

October 7, 2008 Without
A few weeks ago our television stopped working. Last week our home telephone was down for four days. Not having these conveniences was a pain in some ways and a blessing in others. I have no doubt that we spent more time as a family. Going without something gives you an opportunity to do something different, it's up to you whether it is a good thing or a bad thing.
October 6, 2008 Helping Hands
We just finished helping some people move in down the road. With a large freezer and piano and a lot of boxes it was great to see more and more people show up. A job of unloading a U-Haul that could have taken one person a couple days was finished in about an hour. It just goes to show that many hands make light work and helping hands are very welcome.

October 3, 2008 Enjoy It
The weekend is here and it's time to enjoy doing something you want to do. Make sure that when Monday comes around you have spent some of your weekend doing something worth while, enjoy.
October 2, 2008 Keep Learning
Find things that interest you and spend time learning more about them. If you could be considered as an expert teach, train, instruct, and help others.
October 1, 2008 The Hurdle
Have you noticed that most good things have a hurdle right before they come to pass. It's like you have to put a little more effort into accomplishing good things. There are plenty of reasons to quit good things. Jump that last hurdle and enjoy success.
